Our good friends at Bookmaker are featured once again in Forbes as that media outlet conveys just how bad the LA Lakers are expected to be in 2015-16.

Scott Cooley of BookMaker Sportsbook tells the esteemed media outlet:

“I’ll start with Roy Hibbert, what a complete waste of $15 million. I’m not sure what they’re expecting from him, but it shouldn’t be much. The guy doesn’t look confident on the floor any more, and teams can essentially negate his presence by going small.”

Like a fair percentage of Lakers Nation, Cooley is concerned about Kobe Bryant, playing in what may be his final season: “Is he going to be a team player and lead the kids, or is he going to be vintage Kobe and try to prove to everyone he can play five more years. My money is on the latter. Kobe is the ultimate competitor and leads by example, but I wouldn’t ever call him a mentor. That mentality will handicap the development of the youngsters.

”I can see this team being selfish and sloppy at the end of the day. When it ultimately removes itself from any contention scenario, Byron Scott will have no choice but to push minutes towards the future players. That will undoubtedly create discord in the locker room.”

The Lakers, who always see some decent action coming into the season regardless of their likelihood of actually winning, opened at 100-1 and have since been cut to 75-1.

That other LA team – the Clippers - is expected to play well.
