2015 Estrellas Day 1A Sees 592 Players Enter

The first big tourney of EPT Season 12 is well under way with 592 players competing on Day 1a of the Estrellas Main Event.

Among those in seats are Team Online's Naoya Kihara (who won the PokerStars Sunday 6-max at the weekend), Team PokerStars Pro Jan Heitmann and new Friend of PokerStars Felipe "Mojave" Ramos. Also competing today are PCA High Roller runner-up Vladimir Troyanovskiy, EPT Grand Final champion Pieter de Korver, serial qualifier Luciana Manolea, British pro Niall Farrell, LAPT Panama champion Shakeeb Kazemipur, EPT Barcelona HR finalist Carlos Mora, FPS Deauville winner Niels van Leeuwen, FPS Monaco winner Sebastian Supper, Estrellas PoY Heinz Traut, "Nosebleed" star Sebastian Sabic, Eureka/FPS champion Bart Lybaert and French veteran Roger Hairabedian.

A total of 94 players won seats for the event in the two live satellites which took place last night. Last year Matias Ruzzi defeated a record 2,560-strong field to take €198,550 back to Argentina.

URBANOVICH LAUNCHES HIS SEASON 12 CAMPAIGN IN LIMIT RAZZ

EPT11 Player of the Year Dzmitry Urbanovich has made an early start on his Season 12 points-accumulation campaign by entering today's €5k Limit Razz tourney. Urbanovich will be presented with his EPT11 PoY trophy at the end of the first break on EPT Day 2 next Wednesday. There were 14 players in today's Razz event generating a €67,900 prize pool with €33,950 for first and three paid. The €5k tourney is the third largest buy-in Razz tourney ever held - the other two being $10k events at the WSOP - won by Team PokerStars Pro George Danzer in 2014 and Phil Hellmuth in 2015. Others competing include EPT London champion Sebastian Pauli, EPT Prague €1k PLO winner Tobias Hausen and EPT London £1k PLO winner Jens Lakemeier.
