‘Honey Trap’ Gang Kicked Professional Poker Player to Death

Care assistant Leonie Granger, 25, has been convicted of manslaughter in the brutal murder of a professional poker player.

Granger set up a “honey trap” for 56-year-old Mehmet Hassan, who was kicked to death by her boyfriend, Kyrron Jackson, 28, and another man, Nicholas Chandler, 29.

Hassan was lured back to his place by Granger in March of last year after winning a significant amount of money at London’s Mayfair Casino.  Granger had met Hassan a month before and, once in his home, allowed the assailants to enter. Hassan was then bound with parcel tape and a neck tie before being stamped to death in his bedroom. All three filmed themselves on Granger’s cell phone throwing large bills around and sticking them into their underwear as Hassan lay dead in a pool of blood.

"While Mr Hassan's body lay undetected in his flat, his killers were literally throwing his money around," said Crispin Aylett QC, counsel for the prosecution.

Judge William Kennedy warned the three defendants to expect "significant and immediate" jail sentences.

On the live poker circuit, Hassan achieved modest cashes.
