While poker is often heralded as an American pastime, the fact is that it is a global game and played across the world. So, it is no longer a deadly game of face reading played by cowboys in saloons. Today, poker is played just about everywhere in the world from Vegas to Macau, Melbourne, to Nottingham.

However, a question we get asked a lot is, where are the best poker rooms in the world? Even though answering this question is subjective at best, but as people who have played poker around the globe, we can attempt to answer this question. There are a couple of factors we had to consider when coming up with a list of the best poker rooms. We had to consider the service itself, the rake charged, the games that were on offer, and if all things were equal if there is parking space.

The Best Poker Rooms in the USA & Canada

Home to the World Series of Poker, you’d imagine that we have some of the best poker rooms in the world, and you wouldn’t be wrong. You’ll find some excellent poker rooms in Las Vegas, which is often considered the mecca for poker players. But some poker rooms are better than others.

The Bellagio has some of the best poker rooms, but we prefer Bobby’s Room. Alternatively, The Aria’s Ivy’s Room is also amongst the top ones we’d recommend. Bobby’s Room is named after the 1978 World Series of Poker Champ Bobby Baldwin. The buy-ins in this room start at around $20,000. Over at Ivy’s Room, which is named after Phil Ivey, here too, the buy-ins start at $20k and above.

The Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa in Atlantic City is one of the best, most convenient places for poker players on the East Coast. It offers several different games and with varying buy-ins. Interestingly they also have a very popular online poker game that’s for players within New Jersey and is a must-play for anyone who happens to find themselves in the Golden State.

The Mount Airy casino located in Pennsylvania has a live poker room, which they call a Poker Parlor. The perk with this room is that it is operational 24/7. They have nine tables and players can try their luck and skill at Texas Hold’em.

Cross over on to Canada, and Winnipeg’s Club Regent, Calgary’s Grey Eagle, and the Casino Regina have some of the best poker rooms in the world.

Poker Rooms in Europe

While Europe may not be known for its poker rooms but it still has many that are amongst the best in the world, some rival the best rooms over in America. Let’s start with Kings Casino in the Czech Republic. The casino is famed for having the best poker rooms in Europe. Interestingly, it is owned by Leon Tsoukernik, a high roller in the poker world and which is why the casino is home to many live events.

Cross over on to the UK, and there is Aspers Casino that runs annual poker events and tournaments. The good thing about the poker rooms here is that there is a myriad of buy-in levels, so there is something for everyone. Currently, the weekly tournament does not have a registration fee, and 15% from the entire prize pool goes to the Second Chance Sunday Tournament.

If you happen to find yourself in Nottingham, make sure to visit Dusk Till Dawn, they frequently partner with PartyPoker Live. The casino has 45 tables and can comfortable accommodate 450 players with varying buy-ins for people of all skill levels.

Poker Rooms in Macau

Unknown to many people Macau in China is home to high stakes poker rooms, many frequented by big names like Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, and Daniel Cates. The PokerStars LIVE Macau poker room in Wynn Macau is a must-visit for anyone who wants to play at a star-studded location. However, be warned these are high stakes tables, evident from the opulent, and plush surroundings.

Conclusion

While these may be the best poker rooms in the world, many of these casinos also offer online gambling. So, you don’t necessarily have to be an avid poker player to appreciate the luxury, style, and service options these casinos offer.
