"Paris" is in quotes as this event - as well as the Men's Surfing - will not be taking place there.

In fact, the surfing competition will be 10,000 miles from the middle of the Olympic action in Paris.  48 of the best surfers in the world will be competing off the coastal village of Teahupo’o in Tahiti, an island in French Polynesia.

And a fun fact: Holding the surfing events in Tahiti marks the longest distance in history between an Olympic competition and the host city of the Games, at 9,765 miles between the small island and Paris.

Surfing made its debut appearance at the 2020 Summer Olympics in 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.

Fierro is a French professional surfer from French Polynesia, France. She was World Junior champion in 2017.  She qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games.  As the favorite, she pays out $270 for every $100 bet to win gold in this event.

Marks would pay out $380 for every $100 bet.

Marks is the 2023 WSL Women's World Tour Champion. She is a multiple national champion and the youngest female to compete in a World Surf League event. She is the youngest surfer to qualify for the women’s Championship Tour.

Caitlin Simmers is an American surfer who has competed professionally since 2018. In 2023, Simmers made her debut in the world surfing elite. Her first major result was victory at MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal beating Courtney Conlogue in the grand final
