There was terrific value in Ryan Lochte odds of winning the gold at the 200 m Freestyle following his first gold at this year’s London Olympics.  Bookmaker had him listed at EVEN odds for the Sunday swim event with nearly 86 percent of the betting action coming his way.

Lochte turned his much-anticipated duel with Michael Phelps into a blowout, pulling away to win the Olympic 400-meter individual medley by more than 3 seconds Saturday night. Even more stunning: Phelps didn't win any medal at all.

"I think I'm kind of in shock right now," he said. As for Phelps, "I know he gave it everything he had. That's all you can ask for."

Many eyes were turning to the 200 m Butterfly where Phelps was a huge -500 favorite despite the lackluster performance thus far.  Much of the early action was flowing his way but Japanese swimmer Takeshi Matsuda was seen as having great value at 4/1 odds.  20 percent of the betting public was backing Matsuda.
