Gambling911.com has released its 2010 Week 3 NFL Power Rankings based on who the oddsmakers believe have the best shot of winning the 2011 Super Bowl. We reference the odds currently being offered by SBG Global, which is now giving away up to $3000 IN CASH based on amount of initial deposit or first bet (this is the maximum offered or 30 percent of your initial deposit/bet).
The number in ( ) represents last week’s NFL Power Rankings.
*1 – (1) Green Bay Packers – The Green Bay Packers top the 2010 Week 3 NFL Power Rankings and retain their number one position this week. Beating the Bills shouldn’t qualify a team, but Clay Matthews 3 sacks of Bills quarterback Trent Edwards can certainly help build a strong case for the Packers dominating defense. They won with an exclamation point, unlike in the previous week: 34-7. They would pay $620 on a $100 bet to win the 2011 Super Bowl.
*2 (tie) (5) – Indianapolis Colts – Manning vs. Manning was essentially no contest this past week despite the build up. Peyton trounced the Giants. +800 or 8/1 odds of winning the Super Bowl.
*2 (tie) (2) – New Orleans Saints – A win is a win but the 49ers nearly got away with one here. Since 2007, Drew Brees has 29 games with a quarterback rating of at least 100 -- most in the NFL. Sunday was Brees' sixth straight game in which he finished with a rating of more than 100. Also 8/1 odds to win the Super Bowl.
*4 – (3) Baltimore Ravens – The Ravens lost against Cincinnati following a grueling win against the Jets the previous Monday night. Of course the Jets won big against New England Sunday, so what exactly was the Ravens excuse? 9/1 Super Bowl odds.
*5 – (7) San Diego Chargers – They made up for an upset loss vs. Kansas City the week previous. 38-13 vs. Jacksonville. Some reasons to fear the Chargers once again: Antonio Gates caught two touchdowns passes, giving him 62 for his career while quarterback Philip Rivers threw for 334 yards. Ouch! 10 to 1 odds of winning the 2011 Super Bowl
*6 (tie) (4) – New England Patriots – They looked great in Week 1 but fell to the Jets Sunday. 12/1 Super Bowl odds.
*6 (tie) (8) – New York Jets – These were the Jets that were favored to go deep into the post season. 12 to 1 Super Bowl odds.
*8 (tie) (9) – Pittsburgh Steelers – 2-0 without Roethlisberger. These Steelers still have great Super Bowl odds of 16/1 or +1600.
*8 (tie) (6) – Dallas Cowboys – Should the Cowboys really be in 2010 Week 3 NFL Power Rankings? We say….maybe…since everyone believes this Cowboys team will rebound mighty fast. 16/1 odds
*8 (tie) (-) – Houston Texans – At 16/1 odds of winning the 2011 Super Bowl, you gotta love the Texans. Matt Schaub became just the fourth quarterback in the last 50 years to throw for at least 475 yards and have a completion percentage of at least 70 percent.
