Vikings vs. Saints

Vikings vs. Saints odds continued to sit at New Orleans -5 as of Tuesday evening.  The Saints were getting the most action at Sportsbook.com of any other side in any other sport.  80 percent of the action was on New Orleans in this game.  Oddsmakers have only moved the line down a half point, and that is to encourage more action on the Saints it appears.

As Gambling911.com pointed out yesterday, the Vikings have owned this series in recent years up until their loss last year in the Playoffs, but that was by a mere 3 points in overtime.

“The online sportsbooks seem to be of the mindset that Minnesota will at least cover in this game,” suggests Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

The line on this game opened way back in March at some books.  At that time, New Orleans registered at -4 and the line pretty much stayed there up until the first week in August.  A larger volume of bets came in at that time prompting a line as high as -6 ½ at that time before settling back in around -4 by midmonth.

The line has been moving between Saints -4 ½ and -5 ½ over the past week.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
