It seemed like a good bet at the time, Tiger Woods at 13/1 odds at SBG Global coming into this year’s PGA Championship.

For a while, the world’s number one golfer remained in the thick of things. By Saturday afternoon, Tiger’s hopes of winning the 2010 PGA Championship were dwindling.

After pulling within five strokes of leader Matt Kuchar when the second round was completed Saturday morning, Woods backed up in the third round. He blew birdie chances on each of his first three holes, and bogeyed his next two. And in the surest sign of trouble, he was muttering to himself before he finished the fourth hole.

Woods was at 1 under through six holes, seven strokes behind Kuchar and Nick Watney, who birdied No. 1 to move into a share of the lead.

Watney came into the 2010 PGA Championship at around 45/1 odds.
