The FBI in conjunction with the Harris County Sheriffs Department conducted a raid on a Houston, Texas underground poker game late Tuesday night.

Some basic info about what was known as the I-45 South game:

It’s a very large game that’s been running for many years. They have $2,000 freerolls every night. Games running from 1/3 NL up to 5/10 on a regular basis.

Harris County Sheriff’s undercover agents had investigated the business for some time before making their move around 10:30 p.m.

The violators were loaded into police cars and onto a bus. Authorities would not say how much money or other goods were recovered.

It was not immediately known as to why FBI agents were directly involved in the raid.

Folks commenting on the KHOU.com website had this to say:

If poker is legal in California by golly it should be legal here. Come on Governor Perry, legalize it in Galveston so Tillman Fertitta can get richer before the island becomes forgotten when the BP oil reaches our shores in August.

And this…

People have personal freedoms. what a joke this is. texas shouldnt be shipping all of its money to louisiana. these ma and pa gambling places belong here. they allow the little man to open up a business before the walmart stlye casinos make their landing and the rich get richer. some of the greatest leaders in the past hundred years were known cardplayers. we've gone from our dimly lit rooms to the frontline of espn and fox sports. its not a game of chance its a game of skill and those who cry do so because of their epic failures at the table. of course we could probably still pay taxes to england if we didnt take chances oppose laws and fight for what we believe is just. i see the haters probably lost their welfare checks at these places they named. guess they "wentngotbusted". swim faster donkey the sharks a comin. ni han.
