World Cup Final for the Netherlands vs. Spain odds had Spain as the even favorite and Holland coming in with odds of +280 for a payout potential of US$28 on every US$10 bet at SBG Global.

Sunday, 2:30 pm Eastern - ABC

Two teams that have never won a World Cup title will meet in the final on Sunday as the Netherlands battles Spain in a match that can be seen on ABC television.  The Netherlands has been in the final twice in their history, losing in 1974 and in 1978 while this will be the first-ever appearance for Spain in the final..

Spain was able to get past Germany 1-0 in the semifinals to reach the final while the Netherlands outscored Uruguay 3-2 in the other semifinal.  Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder lead the Netherlands while Spain is led by David Villa.  Sneijder and Villa are tied for the World Cup goal scoring lead as each player has scored five goals.  The Netherlands is the higher scoring team in the World Cup as they have outscored their opponents 12-5.  Spain has played more of a defensive game as they have outscored opponents in the World Cup by a 7-2 margin.

Spain actually lost their first match in this year's World Cup 1-0 to Switzerland.  Since that loss they have allowed only one goal.  David Villa has scored five of their seven goals and is tied with Sneijder for the Golden Boot.  Spain is loaded with talent and it showed as they completely dominated Germany in the semifinals.  The midfield of Spain is simply brilliant with Xavi, Iniesta and Xabi Alonso.  The defense is very good and goalkeeper Iker Casillas is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.  And when Spain needs a goal they have Villa upfront.  There are not many weaknesses on this Spanish team and they are a deserving favorite.

The Netherlands has been impressive in the World Cup and they have the talent to match up with Spain except in goal.  The Netherlands has Robben and Sneidjer plus they have a great duo in Nigel de Jong and Mark van Bommel in the middle.  Not to be forgotten are Dirk Kuyt and Robin van Persie.  The problem for the Netherlands is that goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is not in the class of Casillas.  If the game comes down to which keeper makes a critical save, then Spain is likely to have the edge.
