While it seemed like Didier Drogba was going to miss the 2010 World Cup, the Ivory Coast captain might actually suit up after all.

According to reports, Drogba had surgery on his broken arm last Saturday, after suffering the injury in a pre-tournament friendly against Japan, and returned to take part in practice wearing a cast yesterday.

"If the match had been today or tomorrow, he wouldn't be able to play," Ivory Coast Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson is quoted as saying by the Canadian Press.

"But it's in a few days. He might play."

With or without Drogba, the Ivory Coast will be in tough not only in their World Cup opener but in their Group as well.

The Ivory Coast will open on June 15 against Portugal and are +203 underdogs while the Portuguese are +102 and the Over/Under is set at 2.5.

Also, the Ivory Coast is in a Group (Group G) that consists not only of Portugal but Brazil too - North Korea is the other nation in the Group and the Ivorians are listed at +300 to win the Group and +125 to finish third in the Group.

Should Drogba take part in the World Cup, he is listed at +2200 to be the Top goal scorer and should the Ivory Coast win the World Cup, they would pay out at +1500 at Sportsbetting.com or US$150 for every US$10 bet.
