LAS VEGAS (Gambling911.com) - Video posted to social media by "Jedi Rich" on Sunday showed raging floodwaters outside the Linq Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV Sunday morning (10/11).
In describing the scene, "Jedi Rich" joked that the property had added a new roaring rapids feature. The remnants of post-tropical storm Rachel soaked Sin City overnight. A flash flood advisory remained in effect into at least Sunday evening (10/11).
Floodwaters swamped Las Vegas streets as Tropical Storm Rachel brought record rainfall to the city. Sunday's 1.08 inches of rain tied the all-time daily rainfall record for October, set in 1947.
The flooding created some disruptions for people trying to get to work. Police blocked roads near East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane, forcing drivers to take alternate routes. Some people still ended up stuck in the floodwaters.
While the flooding has mostly subsided, there is still a 51% chance of rain in the area Monday afternoon.
