Arkansas Saracen Casino Executive Hospitalized After Being Told He Will Be Terminated

Two executives of an Arkansas casino have been recommended for termination of their employment with that consideration leaked to the state press and ultimately nationwide via Gambling911.com. One of those executives, Carlton Saffa, was the very first employee of the Saracen Casino in Pine Bluff and had helped with the licensing process that resulted in converting the venue from a gas station casino to the full service resort Saracen is today. This story has now gone viral. The executives are alleged to have developed gaming software called “GamePhysics” and had marketing that produce to “third parties within the Arkansas gaming industry.” Notably, the Downstream Development Authority, whose job is to oversee Saracen, began the process of recommending Saffa and his colleague, Matt Harkness, for termination before even addressing the accusations with either individuals. Neither have officially been fired. Saffa has denied any wrongdoing.

The secrets of thousands of online casinos have been laid bare in a vast leak of data that could have seismic consequences for offshore gambling firms, including some accused of illegally targeting consumers around the world. The Casino Secrets leak reveals tens of thousands of previously confidential files stored by the gambling regulator on the Caribbean island of Curaçao. The files detail the inner workings of some of the world’s largest online casinos, including the crypto-focused Everton FC sponsor Stake.com and the Santeda network, which was exposed in an investigation by the Guardian and Investigate Europe in April. Appeals Court Says Ohio and Tennessee Can Regulate Kalshi Under Gambling Laws

The 6th Circuit said Ohio and Tennessee can apply gambling laws to Kalshi, deepening a split that may reach the Supreme Court. The situation in Tennessee is particularly interesting as Kalshi previously had a significant positive outcome in Tennessee — but that victory was just overturned. In January 2026, after Tennessee regulators ordered Kalshi to stop offering sports-event contracts, U.S. District Judge Aleta Trauger issued a temporary restraining order protecting Kalshi from Tennessee enforcement. She said at that stage that Kalshi was likely to succeed on its claims.
