OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - NBA superstar and the newest Philadelphia 76ers player, Lebron James, has announced he is now partnering with the prediction market Polymarket.
On Saturday, James shared a short video on social media announcing a partnership with the prediction platform Polymarket. The Sixer then posted a longer commercial-ready version of the video Tuesday, in which James visits Polymarket’s fictional headquarters and its “sports” floor. It features a number of former star athletes including the likes of Eli Manning, Derek Jeter and Sue Bird.
For those of you not keeping score, Lebron is hardly the first and most certainly will not be the last athlete to get into the prediction market frenzy.
- Bryson DeChambeau — Kalshi. In January, the LIV golfer became Kalshi's first official athlete partner and ambassador. His agreement includes commercials, appearances, social-media content and even Kalshi markets tied to some of his activities.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo — Kalshi. The Bucks star announced in February that he had become a shareholder in Kalshi. The arrangement also involves marketing and live events.
- Lionel Messi — Kalshi. Messi has appeared in Kalshi promotions as part of the company's partnership with the Argentina Football Association. Kalshi's World Cup campaign has featured Messi, Nicolás Otamendi and Rodrigo De Paul.
- Luka Modrić — Kalshi. This is a particularly clear individual relationship. Kalshi named the Croatian star a featured global ambassador as part of its 2026 World Cup partnership with the Croatian Football Federation.
- Maria Sharapova — Polymarket. The retired tennis star has promoted Polymarket on social media, including content showing her using the platform during a tennis match.
- LeBron James — Polymarket. His newly announced arrangement is significant because reporting describes him as Polymarket's first individual athlete partnership.
