OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - Canada comes into Saturday's match against Australia as a -205 favorite. Australia pays $157 for every $100 bet. This game starts at 1 pm EDT.
Little Mountain went a perfect 8-0 in the Canadian regional tournament, but immediately ran into a powerhouse South Korean team in its opener. South Korea shut out Canada 7-0. Canada's 8-0 regional record gives it a much stronger résumé coming into this match.
Connor Ross is considered one of the top Canadian players to keep an eye on here. He's listed prominently on Little Mountain's official LLWS roster and is part of a Canadian team that dominated its way through qualifying.
Gen Nicholson is another name worth watching today. Little Mountain itself has highlighted Nicholson as Canada prepared for the Australia elimination game.
The bigger question for Canada is whether its hitters can rebound after being completely shut down by an exceptionally strong South Korean pitching staff.
Australia got beaten 7-1 by Mexico in their first game of the LLWS.
Mac Dillon, Kobe Bosman and Riley Fury are the players to watch here for Australia.
The Little League World Series issued the following statement to Gambling911.com:
"Little League International stands by its statement first issued last year that there is no place for betting on Little League games and players or any youth sports competition. Little League is a trusted place where children are learning the fundamentals of the games and all the important life lessons that come with having fun, celebrating teamwork, and playing with integrity, and no one should be exploiting the success and failures of children playing the game they love for their own personal gain."
"We're not here to say whether gambling on 10-, 11- and 12-year-olds is right or wrong, that's up for you to decide (and possibly write about), we're just delivering the information," BetOnline Brand Manager Dave Mason tells Gambling911.com.
