Former DraftKings Las Vegas Employee Arrested

A former DraftKings sports trader, Samuel Silverman, was arrested on felony charges for allegedly conspiring with a Fresno State basketball player to manipulate game statistics for betting purposes. Authorities state that DraftKings is not under investigation, and the company has confirmed that the individuals involved are no longer employed.

He is facing two felony charges stemming from an alleged scheme to profit from manipulated player prop bets involving the Fresno State men's basketball team.

The case centers specifically on Fresno State's January 7, 2025 game against Colorado State.

Authorities allege that a former Fresno State player Mykell Robinson intentionally underperformed in that game with bets having been wagered on the under for Robinson's player props points, rebounds, assists, etc.).

Robinson allegedly informed others in advance that his statistics would be unusually low.

Those bets reportedly cost about $2,200 to place and allegedly returned nearly $15,950 in winnings.

The investigation also names Steven Vasquez – former teammate allegedly involved in planning the bets - as well as Matthew J. Martin – Silverman's former DraftKings colleague and roommate, who investigators say placed some of the wagers. As of the latest reports, Martin had not been criminally charged.
