Folarin Balogun Goalscorer Markets Open, Payout US$600 for First Goal as He Can Now Face Belgium

Team USA can breathe a collective sigh of relief as it was announced Sunday that star player Folarin Balogun will be able to face off against Belgium after all. 

FIFA has suspended the red card USMNT striker Folarin Balogun received in the team's match against Bosnia-Herzegovina, making him available to face Belgium in the round of 16 at the World Cup.

Sportsbooks were quick to list Balogun with a payout potential of US$600 for every US$100 bet to score the first goal of Monday's USA vs. Belgium match and close to US$200 for every US$100 bet to score an anytime goal. 

In a statement on their website, FIFA said: "By operation of Article 27 FDC, the implementation of the automatic match suspension for USA player Folarin Balogun is suspended for a probationary period of one [1] year."

The U.S. will face Belgium for a place in the quarterfinals. The U.S. are seeking an appearance at a World Cup quarterfinal for the first time since 2002.
