  • g

Just five days after the FBI announced a reward for the Hollis C. Vanleer Jr wanted in connection to March armed robbery of Isle of Capri Casino in Booneville, Missouri, the alleged perpetrator has been captured in Bloomington, Illinois.

The FBI offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Vanleer Jr., who is wanted for his alleged involvement in the March armed robbery of the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville, Missouri on March 25.

Vanleer Jr.’s accomplice, an employee at the casino, was previously arrested.  Authorities charged the accomplice, 21-year-old Benjamin Michael-Dass Charles, of Columbia, Missouri, with:

  • First-Degree Robbery
  • Armed Criminal Action
  • First-Degree Assault
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon

Reports suggest the two had been planning the robbery months in advance.

According to court documents, the suspects jumped over the casino cage desk into a restricted area, grabbed a large amount of cash from a drawer, stuffed it into a duffel bag and fled.

During an ensuing struggle with a casino patron, the second suspect allegedly punched that individual multiple times in the head and face, allowing both suspects to escape.

The FBI considered Vanleer Jr. to be armed and dangerous prior to his capture.
