The Lodge Card Club

A popular poker club in Round Rock, Texas, just outside of Austin, is set to reopen May 27, a day after Memorial Day.

The Lodge Card Club faced a legal crisis following a March 10, 2026, raid by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) over allegations of illegal gambling and money laundering

The state also frozen much of the club's financial assets and bank accounts.

Prosecutors dropped the money laundering charges on April 12.

The affidavit pertaining to the March raid and closure of venue co-owned by pro player Doug Polk revealed some interesting developments that included, but were not limited, to:

Texas Penal Code 71.02(a) - ENGAGING IN ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
Texas Penal Code 34.02 - MONEY LAUNDERING
Texas Penal Code 47.03 - PROMOTION OF GAMBLING
Texas Penal Code 47.04 - KEEPING A GAMBLING PLACE
Texas Penal Code 47.06 - POSSESSION OF GAMBLING DEVICE, EQUIPMENT OR PARAPHERNALIA

On April 28, Polk confirmed all charges had been dropped and the poker club would soon be re-opening.

The poker room, which boasts nearly 70 card tables and an attached restaurant, will open its doors at 9 am on Tuesday. Cash games and tournaments will commence at that time.
