  • The casino ranks among the top 3 in New England along side Encore Boston Harbor and Mohegan Sun in nearby Connecticut

MGM Springfield in Massachusetts reported this week that a player bet 1 penny on the "Dancing Drums" slot machine on March 22 to claim a jackpot of $10,651.65.  This represents just one of the big wins on various slots at the popular casino in recent months.

Just one day earlier, a lucky gambler won a $17,084.09 jackpot off the game "Phoenix Link" while another player that same day bet $1.50 on the popular "Dragon Link", winning $11,004.18.

Gambling911.com has reported regularly on the "Dragon Link" slot big pay days at various casinos across the nation.   The "Dragon Link" slot, or similar variants, are typically not found at online casinos.

"Dancing Drums" variants like "Maneki 88 Fortunes" are found on internet casino sites like Bogart's and similar web casinos. These slots feature an Asian luck  prosperity theme, free spins bonus, a jackpot feature, and a coin-based mechanic leading to bonus with medium-high volatility feel.

"Maneki 88 Fortunes" has a Return to Player (or RTP) of 97.5% whereas the RTP of Dancing Drums sits at 96.09%.

Aristocrat's "Dragon Link" features an RTP advertised at 96%.

Comparing the Top New England Casinos

MGM Springfield (baseline)
Paid $100+ million in jackpots in 2025
Peak month: about $12.9M in July alone
Smaller, regional footprint with ~2,500 slot machines

MGM Springfield is truly living up to its reputation as one of the most popular casinos in all of New England.

With more than 1,500 slot machines, MGM Springfield distributed more than $100 million in jackpot prizes last year, with July recording the highest monthly total. The casino paid out more than $12.9 million in jackpots during July.

The largest slot machine jackpot won at MGM Springfield in 2025 was worth $136,000. On July 16, a $250 bet on the game “All Star Poker 2″ ended in the jackpot prize.

Gross gambling revenue at MGM Springfield totaled more than $282.35 million in 2025. That was up from $272,000 in 2024, according to statistics kept by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Encore Boston Harbor (same state, much larger)
Considerably higher gaming volume overall (largest casino in Massachusetts)
Known for frequent six-figure and occasional million-dollar jackpots
Larger floor + higher-end clientele = significantly more total jackpot dollars annually (though not always publicly totaled)
Likely well above MGM Springfield annually due to scale
Monthly payouts (verified):

  • $42.6 million in November 2025
  • $43.2 million in October 2025

Mohegan Sun (nearby mega resort)
Regular seven-figure jackpots (e.g., $1.7M slot hit)
One of the largest casinos in the U.S. (thousands more machines than MGM Springfield)
