Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming just about every industry.

In the gambling space, AI is making its biggest impact on predictive analytics for sports wagering, personalized player experiences, and enhanced gambling detection.

AI has also instilled in bettors a higher degree of self-confidence, but it also poses risks, including increased potential for addiction and ethical concerns about targeting vulnerable users.

Adam Bjorn of Prime Suspects isn't buying much of this.

From a risk management perspective, Bjorn offered this honest assessment of how AI allows gamblers to develop an edge.

"So I think the one statement about LLMs (Large Language Models) is generally, you put garbage in, you get garbage out.  So this prompting world, the ability to sort of put in the information you need, I mean it goes towards everybody's models.  The best gamblers in the world.  Again, what data points are they using?

"What pieces are they drilling down into ultimately being more successful than others.  So there's definitely a world out for it.  I think is the average bettor potentially smarter using these things?  A hundred percent.

"This is a bit like that Athletic reporter a few weeks ago," he added, referring to McKay Coppins, a Mormon who was given $10,000 from his employer to bet with and ended up losing it all rather quickly.  He went on to criticize the sports betting sector. "What is the basis?  What are they putting into it?  Is it garbage in, garbage out?"

"Because I imagine someone with, you know, some experience in this world, wouldn't be losing at the percentages that they were losing because that was quite horrific," he added, still referencing the outcome of Coppins piece.

The Prime Suspects crew also examines a recently announced sports gambling Super PAC featuring DraftKings, FanDuel and Bet365.
