Suit Against Dave & Busters in South Carolina Court Claims Arcade Games Are Unlawful Gambling

Thursday April 16,, 2026 (7:15 pm EDT)

A state advocacy group filed a suit in the District Court of South Carolina Florence Division late Wednesday April 15 against the restaurant and entertainment chain Dave & Buster's arguing its games function as unlawful gambling rather than entertainment.

The group claims that the structure invites patrons to risk money for a chance at a larger reward, which it says fits South Carolina’s gambling definition.

The filing also claims a customer who loads $55 onto a card typically loses most of that amount on a single visit.

The lawsuit does not single out a specific game, but rather challenges Dave & Buster’s overall prize-based arcade model, which would likely encompass games including Wicked Tuna.

The case targets specific stores in Myrtle Beach, Columbia and Greenville and seeks triple damages, fees and a declaration that the model is illegal.

Ex-NBA Player Damon Jones Expected to Plead Guilty in Gambling Scheme

Thursday April 16,, 2026 (12:30 pm EDT)

Former Cleveland Cavalier Damon Jones is expected to plead guilty in a federal court after being charged with giving inside information about National Basketball Association player injuries.

Jones’ plans were disclosed Thursday in court documents.

By entering a guilty plea, Jones would be agreeing that he knowingly shared non-public information that could influence betting markets. The move likely reduces his potential sentence and could signal cooperation with investigators as the larger case continues to unfold.

He has requested a change of plea hearing scheduled on April 28.

Indonesia Intensifies Efforts to Combat Online Gambling with Mass Account Freezes

Thursday April 16,, 2026 (9:56 am EDT)

Indonesia’s ongoing crackdown on online gambling has taken a significant step forward with the freezing of over 33,000 bank accounts linked to illicit betting activities. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) announced that it had blocked 33,252 accounts, a substantial increase from the previous total of 32,556. This action, which follows enhanced due diligence measures imposed on banks, is part of Indonesia’s broader strategy to combat the financial channels supporting illegal gambling, which has been identified as a major threat to the country’s financial system and economy. Top EU Court Says German Online Gambler Can Sue for Refund

Thursday April 16,, 2026 (9:56 am EDT)

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has ruled that online gamblers can seek compensation if they lost money when gambling was illegal in their home country, even if the laws have since changed. This could pave the way for others to reclaim losses.

The fact Germany's laws have since changed, meaning such gambling is now permitted, has no bearing on the case, the ECJ ruled.

This matter came about as a result of a German resident seeking seeking compensation in domestic courts for losses incurred on online slot machines and lottery prediction betting between June 2019 and July 2021, when such gambling was not legal in Germany.

Meat Raffles Keep a Beloved Midwest Tradition Alive

Thursday April 16,, 2026 (9:56 am EDT)

(AP) — In these polarizing times, Minnesotans have found something they can agree on — the thrill of a meat raffle.

Meat raffles have been popular in pockets of the U.S. for decades, offering a fun way to raise money for charities while handing out prizes ranging from ground beef and hot dogs to chicken breasts and steaks. But while inflation has surged and meat prices have soared, Minnesota’s $70 per-event prize limit hasn’t changed in nearly 40 years.

The deeply divided Minnesota Legislature hasn’t been able to agree on much this year, but it’s almost a sure bet to respond by upping the cap to $200. That will allow charities to offer more and bigger grill packs, and thicker, fancier steaks, while funding local youth sports teams and other causes. And it will ensure that the state’s beloved if quirky tradition of gambling for meat products will remain viable.

“This is probably the best feel-good bill that we have going on in the Legislature right now,” said Republican Rep. Jim Nash, lead House author of the meat raffle legislation.

Pete Hegseth Impeachment Odds Go Through the Roof

Wednesday April 15,, 2026 (7:30 pm EDT)

As of the 7 pm EDT hour, searches for Pete Hegseth's impeachment betting market have surged bigly (as seen from these Gambling911.com searches coming in).

Scroll left to right for regions.

Gambling911.com reported earlier Wednesday regarding the Democrats intention to file the Article of Impeachment against Hegseth.

Representatives announce impeachment proceedings: Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) and Rep. Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) introduced articles of impeachment against U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, citing high crimes and misdemeanors. This action follows Larson's prior impeachment articles against former President Trump linked to military decisions and alleged illegal orders.

Reasons for impeachment outlined: The impeachment articles allege Hegseth's involvement in unauthorized military actions, violations of armed conflict laws, and negligence regarding classified information. Representatives claim his actions endanger U.S. servicemembers and undermine constitutional duties.

Official comments on the situation: Larson called Hegseth's actions "unlawful and dangerous," while Ansari emphasized the need for accountability due to risks posed to troops and civilians alike. Both lawmakers stress that Hegseth's conduct violates core principles of governance and military protocol.

Prediction markets only give a 6% chance of Hegseth actually getting impeached by the end of May.
