Crime scene tape

50 people were detained and six were arrested on unrelated warrants following the raid of an illegal gambling den in Orange County, California.

Deputies had been investigating an apparent homicide of a man in his 30s Sunday morning near Pacific and Main Streets in Stanton.  That individual had been shot.

The specific link between the gambling site and the killing remains unclear as of Tuesday afternoon.

Multiple gambling machines were seized at a nearby home at Cerritos Avenue and Flower Avenue.

None of those individuals taken into custody were said to be directly linked to the homicide.

The identity of the victim has not been released as the coroner works to notify his next of kin.

Authorities are seeking help from the public to piece together the events of Sunday morning.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Sheriff’s Dispatch at 714-647-7000.
