2026 World Baseball Classic

We may be reading about the United States WBC manager, Mark Derosa’s error, for years and years.

From a press conference earlier in the day, DeRosa thought the US had already clinched a berth into the quarterfinals.

To quote Lee Corso, “not so fast my friend”. DeRosa managed the team like the game wasn’t essential and the US was upset by Italy.

Two theories: 1) he’s Italian and tanked the game for the Italians, 2) despite going to the University of Pennsylvania, he’s not that bright.

I have a strong lean to the second theory.

So, the US needs Italy to beat Mexico or it will come down to tiebreaker based on runs allowed.

With the current situation, the United States is no longer the favorite at BetOnline.ag to win the World Baseball Classic.
