The Miami Dolphins on Monday announced they would be signing free agent quarterback Malik Willis, a deal reportedly worth a $67.5 million contract ($45 million guaranteed) over three years.
Earlier Monday, the Dolphins released quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Willis will pay out $900 for every $100 bet should he start Week 1 for the Dolphins with odds having been offered by BetOnline.
He is expected to be the starting quarterback in 2026 for Miami.
Willis, the third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2022, was traded to Green Bay shortly before the 2024 season in exchange for a seventh-round pick. He started three games for the Packers over the past two seasons, including a pair of starts in Weeks 3-4 of the 2024 season -- both wins -- less than a month after he joined the team.
Last season, he appeared in four games with one start and completed 30 of 35 passes for 422 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He added 123 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.
In two seasons with the Packers, Willis, 26, appeared in 11 games with three starts (going 2-1) and combined to complete 78.7% of his passes for 972 yards and six touchdowns without an interception. He also had three rushing touchdowns.
The Dolphins were still coming in deal last at 20-1 odds to win the AFC East.
