Kirk Cousins as a New York Jets player

On Wednesday, BetOnline released odds on which team Kirk Cousins will end up playing with next

Despite finishing the season in a mediocre yet serviceable manner, the Atlanta Falcons announced yesterday that Cousins will be released in a couple of weeks.

Cousins will be on his fourth stint with a new team and there are plenty of teams in need of a serviceable QB currently, including his former team in the Minnesota Vikings, who came in as the slight favorites to land him.

The New York Jets were listed with 4/1 odds.

The Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon suggested the the Jets as the third best option for Cousins after the Vikings and Dolphins.

Veterans Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields are coming off disappointing campaigns in consecutive years, and the Jets might decide a fresh veteran look is needed under center. Cousins could at least compete with Fields if New York keeps him on the roster, and with ample cap space plus the possibility of missing out on a plug-and-play rookie, he would give them a steadier short-term option.

Potential obstacles standing in the way include the Jets organization simply tiring of swapping veteran quarterbacks each season when they can instead team Fields up with younger acquisitions.

He adds that Cousins could be a fit in Frank Reich's offense, and the Jets are desperate enough to do this. They would also offer the four-time Pro Bowler a talented No. 1 receiver and a decent amount of support.

USA Today's Joe Rivera is more bullish on the prospects of Cousins landing with the Jets.

This one seems most obvious. The Jets will look under every rock, exhaust every option, search every nook and cranny and use every idiom and cliche they can to try and find quarterback help this offseason. Coming off a year where the Justin Fields gamble went big-time bust, New York needs nothing but stability at the position entering 2026.This one seems most obvious.
