A table of poker players split a rare payout at a Minnesota casino on Valentine's Day, when a "bad beat jackpot" hit for the first time in more than two years, the Treasure Island Resort & Casino confirmed this week.  That casino is located in Welch, an hour outside of Minneapolis.

Treasure Island Resort & Casino's bad beat prize is triggered when a hand of four-of-a-kind or better is beaten by an even better hand.

From ringMeTheNews::

The board on Table 4 was showing six of clubs, three of hearts, seven of diamonds, seven of hearts and six of spades. One player had pocket sixes for four-of-a-kind, only to be beaten by another player's pocket sevens.

The bad beat jackpot was a record $217,490.25, of which half – $108,745.13 – went to the victim of the bad beat, the winner of the hand took home $54,372.57, and the remaining six table members received just over $9,000 each.

It's the first time the jackpot had been hit since Feb. 1, 2024
