WTF

DraftKings has hit a new low with its limits.

George “Riley” Panagakis, who considers himself an expert in the world of NFL Survivor contests and Pot Limit Omaha, this week relayed his experience attempting to place a $500 bet a DraftKings, only to be limited to $53.14.

"I just tried to bet $500 on a Super Bowl Prop at DK but was limited to $53.14. I’mNot kidding! I didn’t place the bet," he tweeted.

DraftKings has become notorious for limiting players in recent years, and they are hardly shy about it either.

@LifeSizeHacks joked about one of the recent promo emails he received.

"I love the promos they send like the 20% profit boosts with a forking $5 max bet."

Pro sports gambler Gadoon “Spanky” Kyrollos isn't laughing.

"Fine example of how fuc*ed up the sports betting industry is."

Spanky has been instrumental in getting at least one regulator - the Massachusetts Gaming Commission - to scrutinize its sportsbook licensees limit policies.

In December 2025, the MGC became the first state to approve pioneering regulations requiring licensed sportsbooks to notify users when they are limited, why they are limited, and which markets are restricted.

Panagakis is an Illinois resident.

DraftKings Sued Over Alleged Betting Limit Violations

The practice does appear to be landing DraftKings in some hot water with  lawsuits recently filed in Michigan, although there is a bit of irony to be had.

Michael Koester, a customer based in Michigan, claims he was able to raise his betting limits without observing minimum waiting periods, required under multiple state gaming laws, something he claims contributed to 'significant' gambling losses.

According to the complaint, there are state-enforced laws that require a 24-hour "cooling-off" period after users increase their self-imposed deposit or wager limits.

He claims he wagered a total of $25,000 across the two years.

Go figure!
