Three Las Vegas casinos are determined to lure back Canadian tourists by offering to accept Canadian dollars at par with U.S. currency.

Circa Resort and Casino, the D Las Vegas, and Golden Gate Hotel and Casino made the announcement this past week per their social media pages.

"Canada, your Vegas dollar just went further. We’re officially welcoming Canadian residents AT PAR across gaming, hotel stays, and select bars at #CircaLasVegas, @theDlasvegas, and @GoldenGateVegas. From the thrill of the casino floor to elevated stays and expertly crafted cocktails, Vegas At Par is our way of saying welcome. No exchange-rate pain. Just more play, more drinks, and more Vegas. It’s time to book that trip to Vegas; where your dollar goes further and the energy never stops. Learn more at the link in our bio!"

Derek Stevens, CEO of all three hotels, told CTV News Channel on Friday that despite “Las Vegas still doing very well,” he missed Canadian tourists. “I think everyone knows that Canadian tourism to Las Vegas has been down,” he said.

It matters.  Someone spending the equivalent of US$1000 at another Las Vegas property compared to Circa Casino would be spending  C$1,370 (Canadian dollars), a savings of C$370 at Circa

Data from other travel sources shows Canadian visits to the U.S.. were sharply lower in 2025 — in some reports declining by around 20–30% or more year-over-year, and specifics like Arizona/Las Vegas or cross-border trips show notable declines in Canadian visitors.

Canadians continued to take fewer trips to the United States amid the trade war in November 2025, according to the latest data.

Canadian resident return trips to the U.S. fell 23.6 per cent on average in November compared with the same month in 2024.

It gets worse where Vegas is concerned.

From January through November of this past year, Sin City welcomed around 35.46 million visitors, a 7.4 % decrease compared to the 38.27 million visitors over the same period in 2024.
