Michele Tafoya on the sidelines of a game

Michele Tafoya is trading the football sidelines for the Senate floor.

The former sports reporter just announced her Republican bid for U.S. Senate in Minnesota, aiming for the seat being vacated by retiring Senator Tina Smith.

BetOnline.ag was the first to post odds on Tafoya's chances and...they aren't great.

The GOP hasn't won a Senate seat in the Gopher State since 2002, which is probably why Tafoya has 10/1 odds to win the election (those odds equate to around a 9% likelihood).

That said, she is the favorite to win the Republican primary. Here are all the odds:

Minnesota - Republican Primary

Michele Tafoya 7/5 (+140)

Royce White 3/1

Adam Schwarze 3/1

David Hann 4/1

Mike Ruoho 33/1

Tom Weiler 50/1

Raymond Petersen 50/1

Julia Coleman 50/1

Christopher Brooks 50/1

Will Michele Tafoya win Minnesota U.S. Senate race?

Yes 10/1

Senate primary odds are subject to change and will be updated in real-time
