In January, Elon Musk made a major political splash by donating $10 million to a super PAC supporting Republican Nate Morris, who is a running for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky.

Morris is running for the seat currently held by Mitch McConnell, who is retiring at the end of his term. Musk has been a vocal critic of McConnell for years. 

The timing and message behind Musk's donation are apparent, and the Democratic Party is bracing for an wave of Elon funds flooding in against them during the midterms.
