The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League schedule has been underway since September. Even the ardent fans might not realize some big-name clubs have never won a title.

Chasing Glory

It is wholly appropriate that on the same early-December day the FIFA World Cup is being drawn in Washington, D.C., soccer is the theme of this tome.

However, not all games are to be played in North America.

Rather, the UEFA Champions League, currently underway as of mid-September. Since only the best teams in each European nation qualify, it’s a tournament with no stiffs.

Paris Saint-Germain (see below) may have arguably been the best club never to have won the title. That was before a dominant performance last season.

With PSG getting off the schneid, that leaves other marquee teams trying to do the same. There’s a list including (alphabetically) Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Lyon (though its women’s team has been tremendous), and Tottenham Hotspur, to name a few entities in this competition which dates back 70 years (1955-56).

Ironically, Arsenal, which hasn’t sniffed a final appearance in two decades, is the current wagering choice to win the title this tier around (again, see below). Arsenal’s drought is a mere coffee break when compared to Roma, which is 42 years (1983-84) removed since its last berth.

Here’s a bit of a primer on the Champions League

Who is Hosting the Champions League Final in 2025-26?

The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League schedule concludes in Budapest, May 30th, 2026. Puskas Arena is the site, with Hungary a first-time host of the best of the UCL.

If you’re looking ahead, the 2026-27 finale is in Madrid.

Back to Budapest, where the current Champions League odds have Arsenal as the 13-4 (+325) favorites to hoist the trophy. Bayern Munich is the second choice at 5-1 (+500), ahead of defending champion (see below) Paris Saint-Germain at 6-1 (+600).

Man City and Real Madrid are both at 8-1 (+800), with Barcelona at 9-1 (+900). Those are the only six clubs currently under double-digits in the wagering.

Arsenal, sitting atop the standings (3-0) in early December, is also the 8-5 (+160) favorite to make the final game, ahead of Bayern Munich at 9-4 (+225) and PSG at 5-2 (+250).

As a public service, a reminder that odds around Champions League betting (individual games and future wagers) are fluid

Which Club Won the Last Champions League Title?

Paris Saint-Germain has the distinction of being the reigning Champions League titlist; PSG blitzed Inter Milan, 5-0, in Munich to earn the first championship in club history. Nineteen-year-old Desire Doue led the way with two goals and an assist. He was accorded Man of the Match after that performance.

As was mentioned, the current Champions League schedule began this past September.

Who is the Current Champions League Winner?

Props to Paris Saint-Germain, which ended the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League in grand fashion with a 5-0 dismembering of Inter Milan in Germany. capturing the first title in club history. PSG is an aforementioned 6-1 (+600) to repeat the feat, according to the current UCL odds.

Any Final Thoughts?

Whether serious, casual, or somewhere in between, UEFA Champions League bettors are advised to pay close attention to not only the months-long schedule but also any news (including injuries), Champions League stats, and trends along the way. It’s the savvy ‘investor’ who incorporates any morsels of information (while shopping to find the best line out there), hoping to gain any possible advantage with his/her wager.
