With spread action just under 70% for the Cowboys, sportsbooks will be big Lions fans for this one.

Dallas had opened as the +5.5 dog with the line quickly moving to +3.  This number has actually sat on the 3 throughout much of the week.

The Lions ended a six-game losing streak against Dallas with a 47-9 victory at AT&T Stadium last season. It was the most lopsided loss under owner Jerry Jones, who bought the Cowboys in 1989. Two years ago, Detroit lost at Dallas 20-19 after a 2-point conversion pass to OT Taylor Decker was negated because the officials said OT Dan Skipper reported as eligible and Decker did not.

The Cowboys are over .500 for the first time this season with three consecutive wins under Brian Schottenheimer.

Detroit, which is two games under the division leading Chicago Bears, has played 56 regular-season games over three-plus years without losing two in a row. If the Lions win on Thursday night, their streak without consecutive setbacks will be the league’s longest since New England’s 57-game run that ended in 2006, according to Sportradar.

Most simulator projections now place the Lions playoff chances somewhere between 30 % and 46 % despite a 7-5 record as the Packers also sit above Detroit in the division.

Dallas is 9-2 on “Thursday Night Football” since its launch in 2006.
