The future of a popular online gambling portal remains uncertain following the death of its founder, Kenneth Weitzner, also known as "The Shrink". He and his wife were found dead in their Chesapeake, Virginia home earlier this month in what was initially ruled a double suicide.
Weitzner's stepson was slated to appear on an Internet sports broadcast that is linked weekly from the EOG.com website. A moderator for the EOG.com site noted that the family member could no longer discuss the website's future on the advise of lawyers. It was also suggested that there were now "ownership" issues.
It was not immediately clear if Weitzner had other partners with ownership in EOG.com.
Weitzner started EOG.com after selling his original online gambling website portal, TheRx.com for more than $2 million some years ago. That site's new owner, Marty Jensen, told Gambling911.com's Thomas Somach that Weitzner was "never able to duplicate the success of TheRx.com".
The EOG.com business model relied heavily on paid moderators who oversee the website's posting forum. The site is also believed to eat up costly bandwidth. Unconfirmed reports suggest that some of the online ad space may have been paid through betting accounts or affiliate deals, which would be difficult to access without specific authorization.
It was also not known if Weitzner left a will. Any existing will could be made public in the next few weeks.
