Contrary to some reports that Ghislaine Maxwell will be released from prison in 2025, the gambling public believes otherwise. ds

Just 17 percent of gamblers at the prediction market Kalshi believe she will be released. Nearly $70,000 had been bet thus far.

Maxwell is a British-American former socialite who was convicted in December 2021 of sex trafficking of minors, including recruiting and grooming underage girls for financier Jeffrey Epstein.  She is currently serving a 20 year sentence.

Maxwell finished 1 1/2 days of interviews Friday with U.S. Justice Department officials, answering questions “about 100 different people,” her attorney said.

Questions over President Donald Trump’s past ties with Epstein and secret files related to him have dogged administration officials, including some officials who once stoked conspiracy theories and now say there is nothing further to disclose.

Trump on Friday ducked questions about the possibility of his pardoning Maxwell.

“You’re making a very big thing over something that’s not a big thing,” Trump told reporters on the tarmac after landing in Scotland. He said the media should be focused on other people with alleged links to Epstein.

“Don’t talk about Trump,” he added.

How This Market Will Resolve

If Ghislaine Maxwell is released from government custody before Jan 1, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes.
