Jeff Nadu is taking his advice.

Earlier this month it was announced that Nadu, a popular podcaster and former content creator for Barstool Sports, had agreed to host a July 20 audio show on X Spaces (formerly Twitter Spaces) in which he would interview former Mafia bookmaker John Murges about alleged malfeasance at the sports handicapping website WagerTalk.com.

On June 16, Murges posted on X: “I've spoken to Jeff Nadu and we've reached an agreement that he will host the Spaces regarding WagerTalk on Sunday July 20th.  As I mentioned, I've spent an enormous amount of time gathering information regarding these people.  Anyone with additional information please message.”

But now, Gambling 911 can reveal in an exclusive report, Nadu has changed his mind and will not be hosting the July 20 X Spaces show with Murges about WagerTalk, because of the “drama” involved.

In an exclusive interview with Gambling 911 over the weekend, Nadu was asked what he planned to say on the upcoming show and replied: “I have no comment regarding the WagerTalk thing. I don’t plan on doing it. I’m taking some time away from drama spaces. Sorry.”

Asked if the show will still go on without him, he said: “No idea if the show is cancelled. I’d prefer to not be involved.”

Nadu refused to elaborate on his reason for abruptly canceling his appearance, but it appears obvious that somebody got to him and convinced him to put the kibosh on the hosting gig.

Most likely it was someone from WagerTalk, though that is only speculation.

Murges, who has regularly blasted WagerTalk on X, has previously been threatened with a lawsuit by the website.

It’s not exactly known what Murges’ beef with WagerTalk is, but he is now a sports handicapper and sees the cappers on that site as rivals.

WagerTalk began in the late 1990s as a simple Internet posting forum where sports bettors discussed wagers and betting strategy, but it quickly degenerated into a cesspool of invective language, insults and threats.

One commentator on another sports betting-themed website called it at the time “the nightly pissing match at WagerTalk.”

WagerTalk has since evolved into a major sports handicapping site, where about a dozen sports handicappers sell their picks on upcoming games.

Some of the cappers featured though are of questionable competence or virtue.

One had his house foreclosed on because he could not pay his bills.

Another killed a man in a drunken driving accident.
