The US largest regulated sportsbook, FanDuel, is set to close its sportsbook at the Phoenix Suns Arena PHX Arena.

The reports surfaced late Wednesday with the closure set to take place July 24.

The 7,400 square-foot sportsbook, billed as the first inside an NBA arena when it opened in September 2021, featured five betting windows, 26 kiosks, 40 TVs, an outdoor terrace and a full-service bar and menu.

"All payouts beyond this date can be processed via the mail-in process as highlighted on the back of your ticket."

Reports suggest that the retail operation was not entirely profitable for FanDuel with revenues cratering in recent months, according to AZ Central.

The retail sportsbook paid out more in winnings than was wagered in four of the past six months for which data is available, according to monthly event revenue wagering reports from the Arizona Department of Gaming.

One of the net positive months during that span was October 2024, when FanDuel reported that the location had a mere $32,516 in adjusted gross receipts, in stark contrast to the $21.7 million the company generated online in the state.
