ARod’s New Chapter

The saga of ‘Where Will Aaron Rodgers Play Next Season?’ ended predictably, as the 41-year-old Hall-of-Famer-in-waiting and four-time NFL MVP signed to be the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback in 2025. Rodgers will enter his 21st season in the National Football League.

Rodgers is a 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback, and a statue outside Lambeau Field in Green Bay is fairly certain. Leading the Packers to a win with an MVP effort in Super Bowl XLV (ironically against the Steelers) after the 2010 season was the highlight of his tenure in Titletown, but just as he supplanted Brett Favre, Rodgers was eventually replaced by Jordan Love.

Then, after some self-described soul-searching, he was a New York Jets. Rodgers' non-season (first-game torn Achilles) of 2023 was a wash. However, a 28-touchdown (11-interception) 2024 offered some glimpses of past glory.

Their misery continued (Gang Green was 5-12 in NFL games last season), so New York and new coach Aaron Glenn did not see Rodgers in their plans. Rodgers wouldn’t be back to try and lead the Jets to a first postseason berth since the 2010 season.

If not New York (or New Jersey, if you want to get technical), then where?

The quarterback-needy teams addressed that issue either through free agency or the draft.

All except the Steelers, whose two quarterbacks from last season both found their way to the Meadowlands. Russell Wilson signed with the New York Giants, and Justin Fields is trying his luck with the Jets.

Dominoes fell everywhere, but not in western Pennsylvania. So, after a prolonged game of cat-and-mouse, Rodgers is now a Steeler, with a one-year contract estimated at $20 million.

This ends the league-wide game of musical quarterbacks (2025 offseason edition).

Pittsburgh is listed at 40-1 (+4000) to win the next title, according to NFL game odds.

Here’s a bit of a primer on Rodgers and the NFL with training camps about seven weeks away.

What Is Aaron Rodgers’ Salary?

As was mentioned, Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to a one-year pact, with a 2025 salary estimated at $20 million. This will be the 41-year-old’s 21st season in the NFL (18 with the Green Bay Packers, then two with the New York Jets) needs no embellishment. He’s closing in on 63,000 passing yards, more than 500 touchdowns (116 interceptions). Rodgers has completed 65 percent of his passes.

Mark down Nov. 25th on the NFL schedule, as Pittsburgh visits the Chicago Bears. Rodgers is 24-5 against Chicago. “I still own you's’ was his mantra after beating the Bears (again) in 2021.”

What Hallucinogen Does Aaron Rodgers Use?

If you Google ‘Rodgers hallucinogen,’ the never-wrong internet says ‘ayahuasca.’ If you Google ‘ayahuasca,’ it is defined as a psychedelic which affects all of the senses, ‘altering a person’s thinking, sense of time, and emotions.’ It’s a hallucinogen since the user can hear or see things that don’t exist.

Answering the logical next question, ayahuasca doesn’t violate the league’s drug policy.

Does BetUS Offer Constant Updates on NFL Game Betting Lines?

Though no NFL games today, Aaron Rodgers-to-Pittsburgh may lead to some movement on the board once the regular season begins in September. BetUS will once offer a plethora of pro football odds and props, all the way to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California.

Ironically, Pittsburgh begins its season Sept. 7th in the Meadowlands against Rodgers’ former team, the New York Jets. It’s the Steelers as field-goal favorites (line subject to change as with all NFL game odds).

Any Final Thoughts?

As was mentioned, it’s not necessarily a transaction that significantly moved the needle. The Pittsburgh Steelers’ NFL Super Bowl odds are currently at 40-1 (+4000), though that number figures to fluctuate in the next few months. NFL rumors are a continuous, 12-month loop, with just how well Aaron Rodgers fits in with the Steelers certainly part of that cycle.

There won’t be a definitive answer until NFL scores actually begin to count.
