Red Sox Trade All-Star Slugger Rafael Devers to Giants: Latest Odds

The Giants acquired three-time All-Star Rafael Devers from the Red Sox on Sunday in a stunning trade that sent a player Boston once considered a franchise cornerstone to a San Francisco team needing an offensive infusion.

Boston received left-handed starter Kyle Harrison, right-hander Jordan Hicks, outfield prospect James Tibbs III and Rookie League right-hander Jose Bello.

The Giants will cover the remainder of Devers' contract, which runs through 2033 and will pay him more than $250 million, sources told ESPN.

The Boston Red Sox odds to win the 2025 World Series were currently coming in at 40-1 while San Francisco had odds of 25-1 at sportsbooks and PPH baseball platforms.

His 15 home runs on the year are one higher than the Giants' team total of 14 long balls from lefty bats this year, so he'll address an obvious need for his new squad. It's unclear if Devers will return to the field at third base with the Giants or not, especially considering Matt Chapman (hand) occupies that role when healthy."
