Manel Kape was scheduled to face Brandon Royval at UFC 317.

Here was the opening line for that fight:

Manel Kape                    -270

Brandon Royval             +230

On Monday June 9, Kape backed out of the fight for reasons unknown at this time. Joshua Van stepped in on short notice and the odds have been volatile over at BetOnline.ag.

Van opened at -260 with Royal at +220, which were eerily similar to the opening line for Royval’s fight with Kape.

“Manel Kape is out, Joshua Van is stepping in,” Royval said on Instagram. “I have zero idea of the extent of Manel Kape’s injuries but I do know I have the hottest prospect and probably the most exciting UFC flyweight in front of me. Really nothing changes for me as far as what’s in front of me. I’ve got a gangster that’s ready to take my head off and earn his name off of me.”

Van, 23, has won seven of his first eight Octagon appearances. He entered UFC 316 as the No. 14-ranked flyweight contender

Royval, also 23, is coming off back-to-back five-round decision wins over former champ Brandon Moreno and rising contender Tatsuro Taira.  He has seven wins and three losses in ten UFC career bouts.

Check out the current lines now at BetOnline.ag.

Joshua Van                     -125

Brandon Royval              +105

It will be interesting to see if Royval ends up the favorite.
