The graphic below, courtesy of SportsBetting.ag is based on X data in the last week, leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, tracking tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases about what potential 1st round picks (or notable names) are getting "bust" predictions from NFL fans.
For example, "Cam Ward will be a bust," "Shedeur Sanders will be a bust," "Abdul Carter will be a bust," etc. as well as tweets mentioning potential 1st round picks that also have the hashtag #bust, #draftbust. Over 70,000 tweets were tracked.
Very few players will go unscathed on social media as there’s typically someone tweeting they're going to be a "bust". This year, Travis Hunter seems to be walking on water on X with little to no negative feedback.
However, his Colorado teammate, Shedeur Sanders, isn’t nearly as universally beloved as a player.
This is likely due to several factors... some fans don't like how Shedeur Sanders conducts himself, some don't like how his father and coach, Deion Sanders, conducts himself. Others simply believe Sanders' skill set will not translate well into the NFL, and that he is in danger of not even being a 1st round pick.
We will see tonight, as many believe Sanders will go to either New York or Pittsburgh.
