These include online casinos and offshore sportsbooks.

The five online gambling sites are:

  •     BetWhale Casino, Curaçao
  •     Black Lotus Casino, owned by TD Investments Ltd., Belize
  •     Coins Game Casino, Curaçao
  •     Love2play Casino, Curaçao and Costa Rica
  •     Orion Stars 777 Players, Sichuan Province, China

BetWhale is among the newer offshore sports betting sites to emerge since the overturning of the The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018. But Gambling911.com can report exclusively that BetWhale does not allow those from Michigan to register with their website.

Orion Stars 777 Players the latest sweepstakes casino to be hit with cease and desist letters.

So far, Michigan regulators have sent the letters to more than two dozen online gambling firms that are not licensed in the state.

It is unclear if any of these sites specifically target Michigan residents.

"These illegal platforms not only violate Michigan's gaming regulations but also put consumers at risk by offering unreliable withdrawal options and lacking essential consumer protections," said Michigan Gaming Control Board Executive Director Henry Williams in a news release. "Our top priority is safeguarding Michigan residents by ensuring that all online gaming activities are conducted legally and safely. These operators must stop their activities or face additional legal consequences."

The state has given the five gambling operators 14 days to cease operating in Michigan.
