Thiago Alves ("Pitbull") has undergone brain surgery according to the website TMZ.com.  The Brazilian UFC fighter underwent an 8 hour operation to separate an artery from a vein in his brain.

Dana White told TMZ the operation was a complete success and Pitbull's first words were"  "When can I start training again?"

Alves is expected to remain in the ICU for the next two days.

Alves was scheduled to face Jon Fitch on March 27, 2010 at UFC 111: St.Pierre vs. Hardy but the brain irregularity scrapped those plans.
