The LA Rams are suddenly one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now as the 2024-2025 regular season is coming to a close.

A 5-1 run over the last six weeks has all but assured a playoff spot for these Rams.

Now LA can seek revenge against one of the few teams that blew them in recent times.

The Rams (9-6) have hardly ever been blown out during coach Sean McVay's eight seasons, which include seven years of winning records and playoff contention. But that's exactly what the Cardinals (7-8) did to them in mid-September, rolling to a 41-10 victory that ranks as the second-biggest thrashing of McVay's career.

“We got our butt kicked, and it happened quick,” Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said. “It was one of those things that you don’t really want to experience, but it does happen from time to time, where before you blink, you’re almost out of it."

85% of the spread bets are on LA for this Week 17 game.

Sagarin has the number at 6.27 Rams while the actual line has moved from -5 to as high as -7.

Will the Cardinals come to play?

In addition to being out of the playoff hunt, Arizona has lost a number of key players.

Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray says his team doesn't care if they will be playing as spoilers.

“Going into Week 2, we didn’t think that they were a bad team or anything like that,” Murray said. “I don’t think the mindset changes. Obviously, I think they’re playing better football, but no, I wouldn’t say that our mindset looking at them Week 2 versus now is any different. We still respect them.”

The Rams could have clinched the NFC West as early as this week with a win had Seattle lost its Week 17 game. The Seahawks managed to beat Chicago Thursday night, thus keeping their postseason hopes alive.

They clinch if any four of these teams are victorious in Week 17:

the Rams need wins from four of the teams below:

  • Bengals win over the Broncos
  • Commanders win over the Falcons
  • Bills win over the Jets
  • Vikings win over the Packers
  • Browns win over the Dolphins
  • 49ers win over the Lions
