It was an ugly week of losses for long time MMA fighter Colby Covington.

Former three-time Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight title challenger Colby Covington suffered his second straight loss at UFC Tampa this past weekend (Sat., Dec. 14, 2024) when his fight with Joaquin Buckley was stopped in the third round due to a cut on his eyelid from inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.

Jon Jones Mocks Colby Covington Following UFC Tampa Loss

From MMA Weekly:

While the NCAA Division I All-American did take the fight on short notice, it didn't stop Jon Jones from mocking him online. Following the result, Jones took to X to gloat at the welterweight's misfortune.

"Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump 'ready'," Jones stated in the aftermath of UFC Tampa. "We all appreciate the sacrifice."
