LAS VEGAS – After back-to-back weeks of record-setting eliminations, many expected a quieter Week 3 of Circa Survivor, the professional football contest by Circa Sports. However, the largest percentage of the field was knocked out on Sunday, including three of the top four picks.

Circa Survivor entered Week 3 with 3,877 entries remaining from the original 14,266 that started the season. Thursday night's game followed expectations as 445 entries chose New York against New England, advancing with ease. By Saturday, the revealed selections showed Cincinnati, playing on Monday night, as the most-picked team. The next three most popular choices were Cleveland, Tampa Bay, and Las Vegas.

Cleveland and Tampa Bay, both home favorites, challenged teams widely regarded as the league’s weaker sides in the early window. Cleveland faced New York while Tampa Bay hosted Denver. Despite scoring first, Cleveland found itself in a 21-7 hole at halftime. Tampa Bay fared even worse, trailing 14-0 in the first quarter and 20-7 at the half. Neither team could mount a comeback resulting in 931 entries (24% of the remaining field) lost on Cleveland and 667 entries (17.2% of the remaining field) lost with Tampa Bay.

Las Vegas, another high-picked team, also fell. Hosting Carolina in the late window, Las Vegas was a big favorite considering Carolina had just benched their starting quarterback. However, Carolina marched down for a touchdown on its very first drive and never relinquished the lead. Another 515 contestants (13.3% of the field) picked Las Vegas and were eliminated.

A total of 2,247 entries (58% of the field) had been eliminated by the end of the night. Although more entries were eliminated in Weeks 1 and 2 combined, Week 3 saw the largest percentage drop in a single week in 2024.

As of Sunday night, 1,630 entries remain in the Circa Survivor contest. However, 1,059 contestants are still in jeopardy as Cincinnati, this week’s most popular pick with 988 selections, plays Washington on Monday night. Another 71 entries have picked Buffalo, which takes on Jacksonville. Only 571 entries are guaranteed safe through Week 3.

Week 3 has historically been challenging for contestants. In 2023, the contest had 5,924 entries going in but 3,445 entries (58.2% of the field) were eliminated. Notably, last year’s contest, with 9,267 entries overall, didn’t drop below 1,700 entries until Week 7.
