Spending $300 million on players the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka hasn't exactly paid off for Real Madrid.

Real leads the Spanish League in ticket sales but not when it comes to jerseys.  That honor belongs to both Chelsea and Liverpool.

And as of press time, Real Madrid found itself in a deficit against Lyon that may prevent it from making the quarter finals of the European Champions League.   That games goes off in Madrid Wednesday night (March 10).

Kaka came to Real Madrid in what was believed to be a $90 million deal last summer. Ronaldo came days later.

It is believed that Ronaldo's contract is worth €13 million per season and it has a €1 billion buy-out clause.
