A 72-year-old woman claims Bally's Atlantic City refuses to pay out on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine, citing a technical glitch.

Roney Beal says she hit the $2.5 million slot back.

The New York Post published her account of what she said transpired.

“I just feel it’s not right that they don’t pay out,” Beal told the New York Post Saturday.

“What’s the use in playing then?”

After losing $1,000 on various machines that day, Beal revisited the Wheel of Fortune slot machine.

When she gave it another six or seven spins, she said she hit the jackpot.

She said she eventually got the words “wild,” “wild x2” and spin on a diagonal on the slot area of the machine. This entitled her to a free spin on the Wheel of Fortune wheel on the top of the machine.

After spinning, the wheel ended up on the word “Jackpot” with a dollar sign — and she said she heard the words “You’ve won.”

Famed Sports Bettor Banned From Bally's for Winning

Speaking on his Be Better Bettors podcast back in 2022, sports bettor and founder of the popular sports gambling networking event BetBash, Gadoon “Spanky” Kyrollos revealed how he received a letter from Bally’s stating that he had been banned from their property.

“As a state-licensed casino Bally’s Atlantic City is required to comply with all state and federal laws and regulations including all federal anti-money laundering requirements,” Kyrollos read. “Pursuant to these requirements, Bally’s Atlantic City periodically reviews the activity of the accounts of our patrons. After evaluating your account, Bally’s Atlantic City management has decided that effective immediately, Bally’s Atlantic City can no longer allow you to wager or conduct any transactions at our casino.”

By Monday, a number of local media outlets had picked up on the story.

The casino blames International Game Technology for the glitch. The gaming company told the Post that it is cooperating with the casino's investigation.

NJ 101.5 asked if there really was a glitch.

"As many people online have said in response to this — and other similar stories over the years — the machines never seem to "glitch" when they're taking players' money."

Fanatics Takes Over the No. 2 Spot in New Jersey

Industry observers were seemingly taken by surprise after Fanatics became the first sports betting app not named DraftKings or FanDuel to break into the top two market share in New Jersey last month.

While FanDuel maintained its stronghold on the No.1 spot, Fanatics overtook DraftKings to occupy the No. 2 spot with $32,918,339 taken in compared to $18,918,917 for DraftKings. Fanatics market share equated to 31.6%, FanDuel had 36.3% while DraftKings held onto 18.1%.

According to Next.io, a single VIP whale helped Fanatics secure 23.5% of the market share during the month of March.

They cite the latest Sports Betting Market Monitor report from Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG).

“But perhaps most remarkably, multiple channel checks said the swing was driven largely by a single customer, described to us as ‘the biggest losing player in the regulated market by a mile,’” EKG suggested.
