Where Can I Bet on the SCOTUS Colorado Trump Ballot Ruling?

BetOnline will be offer a wide variety of prop bets on the upcoming Supreme Court ruling to determine whether the former US President Donald Trump's name can appear on the Colorado ballot.

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled last month that the former president could not appear on the state’s Republican primary ballot because he had engaged in insurrection.

Oral arguments were scheduled to begin on February 8 and will be live streamed.  SCOTUS is expected to act quickly.

The Colorado case was brought by a group of six voters — four Republicans and two unaffiliated — who argued that Trump could not appear on the primary ballot because his actions related to the Jan. 6 riot rendered him ineligible for the White House under Section 3.  That clause does not require an individual to have been convicted of insurrection.

Everything has to break the way of the challengers in order to prevent Trump from being on the ballot.

The Justices will focus on such things as "Does the 14th Amendment apply to the President of the United States?"

The Supreme Court could also rule that Congress will make the determination as to whether Trump could appear on the ballot.

Trump did take a tiny hit with the general election odds following the Colorado Supreme Court ruling.  They gave the possibility of another state barring Trump from the ballot 8/1, or +800, odds, yet that happened pretty quickly, barely two weeks after the Colorado decision.

BetOnline.ag Political Analyst and Oddsmaker, Paul Krishnamurty, had this to offer following the CO Supreme Court ruling:

“It seems extremely unlikely that the Supreme Court will allow this ruling to stand, and that whatever they rule will guide other states considering such a move. Even if it does, as a Blue State, Colorado is largely irrelevant to determining the electoral college in this scenario.

“However, where it might make an impact is in the GOP race. While such legal battles persist, and Trump’s first criminal case regarding January 6 is scheduled for March, it may strengthen the idea that he is too risky to choose as nominee, and that after a conviction, they may need to think again.

“It gives his opponents hope and a reason to stay in. However, overall, I think this probably helps rather than hinders Trump, as it will reinforce his ‘victim’ status and claims that the establishment is out to deny democracy using any means. It will help him raise money at the end of the day.”
